Help support newly-arrived refugees during their first year of arrival.
During the first year of settlement, refugees may require assistance with the cost of living expenses such as housing, food, transportation, utilities, groceries, and childcare.
Help newcomer students pursue their academic goals.
Every semester we provide up to 10 students with financial aid for their academic fees and educational support. By contributing to our Academic Bursary Fund, you will help newcomers with their university tuition costs.
Help newcomers afford the documentation they need to study and work in Canada.
Your contribution will cover the governmental application fees related to work or study permits for refugees, asylum seekers and other newcomers. The general cost of these applications is $225. For a further breakdown of the costs, please click here.
Help us to continue fostering social connection and providing wellness support to newcomers.
As part of our new Wellness Sector, we host seasonal wellness activities such as cooking workshops, art therapy sessions, game nights and more. These activities combat social isolation and provide an opportunity to discuss self care and other wellness tips.
Help us provide newcomers with financial assistance to meet their basic needs.
The Pay It Forward Basic Needs fund helps provide newcomers with the financial support for urgent basic needs. These urgent basic needs can be defined as any needs required to access basic human rights services such as, education, health, housing, etc. 100% of the money donated will go towards people in need. No admin fee will be used.
This fund is hosted by The Innovation Institute, The Refugee Centre’s charity wing.
